I went to the NH Dealership this weekend thinking I would buy a toolbox for our new TC-40. I really just wanted to buy the regular rectangular box that can be setup on the back of the tractor. When they rang up the price, it came to $54.95! All that for a black plastic toolbox with a NH logo molded into the box lid. I told the dealer thanks but no thanks. As he walked back to the stock room he said under his breath, "I got mine at Wal-Mart." I went to Wal-Mart and sure enough, there was a toolbox, red but nearly the same size for $3.00!
Enough with my preamble. Has anyone bought one of the Deluxe toolboxes and installed them on a regular Class III Boomer? I was wondering if this toolbox that has the cupholder is worth it. If not, I'll shell out the $3.00 and get the Wal-Mart version.

As mentioned in a recent thread, my solution seems to be putting tools in the loader where I forget about them and then dump them on the ground and bury them. In my case even the $55 box probably would be a wise purchase for me. For an inexpensive solution, I did hear about somebody strapping short sections of 6" plastic drainpipe with end-caps onto the ROPS but even that probably would run more than $3.00. ....

Another suggestion from the wild side.
Seems to me that the Kobalt colours at Lowes are similar to the NH. Would a Kolbalt metal box mount on the tractor? Might look sharp.

I think surplus ammunition boxes work pretty well, but they come in a limited number of colours. Somebody thought grenade boxes are about the right size. Despite the banter, there are some good ideas in this thread. Velcro implements might be good.
Dang! Looks like I posted this on the other half of this parallel thread. I tried to delete my other post. It was the first time I tried to use the delete function and I couldn't get it to work. As long as I end up with duplicate posts, I could wish that it had been a bit more weighty comment on my part.

I walked into a local gun shop last week and found about a hundred old ammo cans for sale. That is not so unusual, but what is strange is that each and every can had been carefully spray painted "empty” with a stencil and white paint. Raises some interesting questions about the mindset of our modern military. I guess it would be a bad thing to get deployed in some far country and lug all your stuff into battle only to discover you had brought empty ammo cans. Could be a real lifesaver. Now I wonder if the ones that actually contain ammo are marked 'full' so you can tell the difference. ....

I have the standard NH toolbox on the back of my TC25D. the cover is warped and it does not shut properly. Anyone else deal with this. I thought about warming it with a propane torch and bending the cover in a convex configuration such that when the latch is closed it will seal better. ....
